Open Gym Program Details

Unlike your typical gym, we WANT you to show up and workout!  We WANT you to be healthy and active for life!  That means we need to do things a bit differently from traditional gyms…

MINIMUM USAGE REQUIREMENT

Based on your program level, you will have a minimum attendance requirement which will be discussed during your orientation session.

LIMITED NUMBER OF MEMBERSHIPS

In order to manage gym traffic and ensure our clients feel safe and at ease, there will be a limited number of program spots available.

MUST PLAN & SCHEDULE YOUR GYM TIME

Members of this program must reserve their gym time during the Open Gym hours.  Planning and scheduling your gym time (just like you do other appointments), increases the chance that you’ll show up, which means you’ll actually get results!  Whoo hoo! 

DISCOUNTED COACHING SERVICES

The Open Gym program offers a 10% discount on other training services (ala carte services only; discount is not applicable to monthly training memberships, coaching programs, or training packages).

We will be closely monitoring demand/gym usage and taking client feedback so that we can offer the most convenient hours for our clients. 

Some hours are unavailable due to high volume private training. 

We will continue to open as many open gym hours as possible.

For your safety, all open gym hours will be staffed by a member of our training team.

Open Gym “Keys to Success” 

AKA: Rules/Policies/Things you have to agree to before we trust you in the gym.

If you can’t agree to the below policies (and find a little humor in them), then we probably won’t be a good fit.  So please look these over if you’re considering a membership.

#1: DON’T BE A JERK!

Look… Some of us struggle enough with dragging our butts to the gym. The last thing we need once we get there is someone acting like a butt head.

So…

Be kind!

Share equipment and the space
Clean up after yourself
Don’t talk about politics, sex, or religion
Be aware of social signals
For the love of Christ DO NOT drop your weights
If you’re unsure how to use a piece of equipment please ask

There will be zero tolerance for hateful speech or ill treatment towards anyone who walks through our doors. All are welcome here!

#2: NO DROPPING WEIGHTS!

That is all. Don’t. Do. It.

#3: THE OPEN GYM PROGRAM INCLUDES:

#4: ANYONE IN THE GYM WORKING OUT MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE OPEN GYM PASS
This one should go without saying, but we work with people and thus we are aware that it’s only a matter of time before people try to sneak in their uncle, nephew, sister, girlfriend, mom, and second cousin.

Okay and in reality, we love all of those people too!

But as you already know if you’re joining this program, we don’t have a huge space. We simply do not have the capacity to offer complimentary buddy passes to all of our clients extended friends and family and still maintain the same intimate, low-traffic environment that we have worked so hard to build and preserve.  

So each person using the Open Gym hours must have either a day pass, week pass, or a monthly membership.

The gym is a delicate ecosystem and we strive to maintain its balance.

#5: OPEN GYM IS NOT PERSONAL TRAINING!

Another one that should go without saying – but we’ve seen it all, so we have to be clear on this one.

All open gym hours will be staffed by a member of our nationally-certified training team.

However, they will be there in case of emergency and to ensure safety, and otherwise have a plethora of other tasks that they are committed to complete during their work day. They are not there to provide training to those using the open gym program.

Think of them as lifeguards at a pool. They are there, but they are not providing swimming lessons.

It would also be grossly disrespectful and unfair to our personal training clients if we offered up these services to others without charge.

They will answer general questions, cheer you on, and probably call you out if you’re just sitting around on your phone and not actually working out… but they are not there to train you unless this is a service you in an agreement with Success to receive.

#6: CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF
Okay we covered this briefly in Key #1… but this one deserves a little more breakdown.

This includes, but is not limited to:

Wipe off your equipment after each use
Put away your equipment after use
If you bring anything in with you, please take it OUT with you after your workout
OUTDOOR shoes are NOT allowed on the gym floor; please wear only CLEAN indoor shoes.
Put your garbage in a garbage can. We have two in the front half of the gym, one in the back by the water dispenser, and one in each restroom.
If you spill something, clean it up (we have a broom and a vacuum and you can ask staff for assistance in this)
If you use any gym towels please put them in one of the towel hampers after your workout (there is one in each restroom and two in the back of the gym)
No eating on the gym floor
The water dispenser DOES NOT DRAIN!! Do NOT let water flow into the reservoir underneath, and if you do, please let a staff member know so they can empty it and clean it.

We don’t mean to be debbie-downers by ANY means. We want you to come and have fun and enjoy yourself. But NO ONE is going to have fun if the gym is trashed.

So please treat it like it’s your own, and try to leave it a little better than you walked into it. We must all do our part to maintain the ecosystem 🙂

#7: ACCOUNTABILITY
YES – we WANT you to show up! You don’t get results at home. You have to show up and put in the work.

Depending on your program level, you will have a minimum number of monthly required workouts to maintain your membership.

Your workouts MUST be reserved in the Success scheduler.

If we notice 2 consecutive weeks of missed adherence without notice from the client, you will receive a 30-day “You’re not doing what you said you would do” probation before we discontinue your membership.

Memberships cannot be paused except in extreme situations. If you have concerns about this please discuss it with a staff member.

#8: MUSIC WILL BE CONTROLLED BY STAFF
Awww the great music at the gym debate! A tale as old as time… 🎶

This isn’t our first rodeo, and we know there is a 100% chance people will bicker about the music.

Unfortunately, when we can foresee a conflict, we’re forced to develop a policy around it.

SO…

The on staff trainer will control the music.

Staff is required to select:
Music that is appropriate (up beat and non-explicit)
A volume that allows for casual conversation without yelling.

If you feel that the staff music selection does not follow these guidelines, please ask them to change it and remind them of the guidelines, or please feel free to text: 763-355-4298 to let management know so that they can address the issue.

If the staff IS following the guidelines and you just don’t like the music selection, please bring headphones.

#9: SHARING IS CARING
Another one that was briefly covered in key #1, but deserves additional mention.

The gym is open 24/7 for private training sessions.

Open gym hours are selected during low-demand training times, however there may still be trainers on the floor working with their clients. We can all play nice in the sandbox, communicate our needs, and enjoy our shared camaraderie in sweatin’ at Success!

This doesn’t mean just taking equipment out from under other people, but using a dialogue to ask when they will be done with said equipment, or if you can do a set during their rest, etc.

If you run into issues with this please inform the team member on duty.

#10: FINAL FUN FACTS!
All open gym memberships are month-to-month, however we do need 30 days notice to cancel your membership.

Open gym hours are subject to change at any time.

Success Fitness reserves the right to discontinue the Open Gym program at any point.
